On 30 January 2018, the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation held a regular meeting.

On the establishment of a uniform numbering of polling stations formed outside the territory of the Russian Federation in the election of the President of the Russian Federation on 18 March 2018

According to Deputy Chairperson of the CEC of Russia Nikolay Bulaev, 382 polling stations in 145 countries around the world, including seven precincts in the city of Baikonur, had been formed outside the territory of the Russian Federation. "It is proposed to establish a uniform numbering for the polling stations and to determine reserve numbers in case of the formation of additional polling stations, which is allowed by law," Nikolay Bulaev said.

The CEC of Russia resolved to establish a unified numbering of polling stations formed outside the territory of the Russian Federation in the election of the President of the Russian Federation, and to identify reserve numbers in the event of the formation of additional polling stations outside the territories of the Russian Federation in the election of the President of the Russian Federation.
