On 12 October 2018 a course of training activities prepared by the Russian Fund of Training in Electoral Technologies Affiliated to the CEC of Russia for members of regional election commissions, employees of their apparatus and other participants in the electoral process started at the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.
Opening the event, Secretary of the CEC of Russia Maya Grishina said that the period between elections should be fully utilized by the organizers of the election process to improve their competencies. She said that the choice of topics was determined by the requests of the members of the regional election commissions and the need to cover aspects of the electoral process that were previously untouched at training events of the CEC of Russia.
The first lecture of the course explores the procedure of validation of information submitted by candidates in the elections and the control over funding of political parties.
The course of training activities includes eight weekly lectures, which will be held via videoconference, and will last until 30 November 2018. Both the staff of the Apparatus of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation and invited experts representing scientific community act as speakers.
