On 5 December 2018 at its 192nd meeting the CEC of Russia approved its report on the expenditure of federal budget funds allocated for the preparation and conduct of the by-elections of deputies of the State Duma of the seventh convocation in single-mandate constituencies on 9 September 2018, as well as data on the electoral campaign funding sources and electoral fund expenditure.
The report and data will be presented to the chambers of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and published in the official magazine of the CEC of Russia.
According to Deputy Chairperson of the CEC of Russia Nikolay Bulaev, in total 477 million 95 thousand rubles were allocated for the preparation and conduct of additional elections of deputies of the State Duma in seven single-mandate districts, 452 million 120 thousand rubles were spent. Unspent funds – about 25 million rubles – will be returned to the federal budget.
“We already have an understanding about expenses that will be required for the electoral system next year,” said Nikolay Bulaev, concluding his statement. “The organization of by-elections of deputies of the State Duma in two single-member constituencies, the election of highest officials in 16 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the deputies of legislative bodies in 13 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and also the election of heads and deputies of legislative bodies in 23 regional capitals are expected.”
