On 3 April 2019 the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation held its 199th regular meeting.
The Chairperson of the CEC of Russia Ella Pamfilova opened the meeting and announced that the Central Election Commission welcomes the initiative of the deputies of the LDPR faction on introduction of the bill to reduce the municipal filter.
“This gives us a chance and opportunities to work effectively in the remaining time until the voting day,” said Ella Pamfilova. “Maybe, in some regions where senior officials are elected, we will succeed in reviewing by the legislative assembly the issue of lowering the filter to the forthcoming elections.”
The Chairperson of the CEC of Russia noted that the CEC of Russia will undertake all necessary efforts so that the process of registration of representatives of political parties and independent candidates to the elections is simplified.
The report on the implementation of the FCI action plan under the CEC of Russia for 2018
Mikhail Popov, the Head of the Federal Informatization Center affiliated to the CEC of Russia, presented a Report to the CEC of Russia on the implementation of the Plan of the main activities of the FCI affiliated to the CEC of Russia on the use, operation and development of SAS “Vybory” for 2018.
“It is difficult to imagine the work of the CEC of Russia without the FCI. It is an important link in the organization of the election process in Russia,” said the Deputy Chairperson of the CEC Nikolay Bulaev. “And it is not accidental that there is a special Federal law about the SAS “Vybory”. Everything is done professionally, correctly and reliably.”
The Deputy Chairperson of the CEC of Russia drew the attention of colleagues to the need for further development of the SAS “Vybory” and offered to continue collecting expert opinions on this issue.
Ella Pamfilova recommended that the management of the FCI affiliated to the CEC of Russia work out various options for the development of the system, drawing attention to the need to take into account current trends in digitalization in the Russian Federation.
