On 8 September 2019, the Chairperson of the CEC of Russia, Ella Pamfilova, reported that as of 9:00 p.m. Moscow time, voting on the single voting day had ended throughout the Russian Federation.
“The last polling stations in the Kaliningrad region were closed, where municipal elections were held in a number of urban districts,” the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission said. - Currently, all precinct election commissions have begun to count votes. From the regions where the voting was completed a few hours ago, preliminary results of the voting are already being received by the Information Center of CEC of Russia.”
Ella Pamfilova noted that, according to preliminary data, there is not a single polling station where the elections would be declared invalid.
“This suggests that no serious violations have been recorded so far that would cast doubt on the will of voters. We will draw final conclusions tomorrow,”said the head of the Commission.
The Chairperson of the CEC of Russia asked colleagues in the regions to carefully monitor the process of counting votes.
“When counting the votes, all observers must be present, video cameras must work, everything must be visible, understandable, transparent; there is nothing to hide. I hope that there will be no violations,”said Ella Pamfilova.
The head of the Central Election Commission reported that during the experiment at the digital polling stations 68.2% of the total number of citizens included in the voter lists participated in the vote. “These are the most active and motivated voters. Now the final data are being formed in these areas,”said Ella Pamfilova.
The remote electronic voting was attended by 92.3% of voters who applied for participation in this experiement.
Ella Pamfilova thanked the voters who took part in the experimental voting and helped to understand if it has a future.
“We will carefully analyze all the information on the experiments,” she said.
Preliminary results of voting at the elections of senior officials in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and of the additional elections of deputies of the State Duma of the seventh convocation will be announced at the Information Center of the CEC of Russia on September 9, 2019.
