Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation held 249th meeting

On 27 May 2020, a regular meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation was held via videoconference.

Opening the meeting, the Chairperson of the CEC of Russia Ella Pamfilova thanked representatives of regional election commissions for participating in the all-Russian mutual aid campaign #МЫВМЕСТЕ (we are together).

According to the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of the Russia Federation, participation in this charity project has further united the election organizers in a common cause of mutual assistance against the background of the difficult epidemiological situation in the country.

Deputy Chairperson of the CEC of Russia Nikolay Bulaev informed members of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation about providing members of election commissions with personal protective equipment in the conditions of the spread of coronavirus infection. This issue was discussed at a joint meeting with representatives of the Ministry of industry and trade.

The Deputy Chairperson of the CEC of Russia noted that funds from the Federal budget will be sent to regions to provide individual protection equipment at polling stations. At the same time, the stations will have to comply with the security model that the Central Election Commission will present in the first days of June.

The CEC of Russia approved the Procedure for Organizing Voting at Digital Polling Stations in the elections held on 13 September 2020

Anton Lopatin, a member of the CEC of Russia, explained that on the single voting day at digital polling stations in the Russian capital residents of other regions of the country will be able to vote in by-elections of the State Duma deputies, elections of heads of subjects of the Russian Federation and elections to regional parliaments.

"The document defines the main organizational features of voting at digital polling stations," said Anton Lopatin. "It is also proposed to approve a list of 30 digital polling stations that will be formed in Moscow. The consent of the Moscow city Election Commission has been received."

Nikolay Bulaev stressed that last year, at the elections of senior officials of the Russian Federation, each voting terminal generated 18 ballots in electronic form, and this year there will be about 200 of them.

The Moscow city Election Commission should establish digital polling stations in accordance with the specified List for the duration of the experiment.

On the execution by the Saint Petersburg election Commission of the instructions of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation dated 20 May 2020

The CEC of Russia took note of the information about the execution by the Saint Petersburg Election Commission of the instructions of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation and drew the attention of the Saint Petersburg Election Commission to the need for further implementation of measures aimed at bringing to justice those officials of election commissions who failed to comply with legally binding court decisions concerning the results of elections of deputies of municipal councils of inner-city municipalities of Saint Petersburg.
