On 2 September 2020 the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation held its 266th regular meeting.
Opening the meeting, the Chairperson of the CEC of Russia Ella Pamfilova noted that the CEC of Russia is interested in a sufficient number of observers who could work during the voting in various forms during all three days.
"The task of the parties is to convince their supporters to go to the elections as observers. Our task is to do everything possible to ensure that they get the necessary knowledge and are well prepared," said the Chairperson of the CEC of Russia. "The Public chamber of the Russian Federation, with the assistance of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, has updated the "Gold standard" of observation, taking into account all the innovations of the electoral process. First of all, this applies to the three-day voting and the features of storing ballots before counting votes after the main voting day."
Ella Pamfilova reminded that the CEC of Russia allowed political parties to form a reserve of observers so that they would have at least two observers at the polling station on each of the three days.
"We are considering measures to equip our observers with the knowledge that will allow them to fully carry out surveillance," stressed the Chairperson of CEC of Russia.
