Ella Pamfilova took part in scientific and practical conference dedicated to modern trends in the organization of the electoral process


On 14 September 2021 the Chairperson of the CEC of Russia, Ella Pamfilova, spoke at the plenary session of the first international scientific and practical conference "The role of civil society in ensuring democratic standards for organizing and conducting elections" with a report on the readiness of election commissions to hold elections on a single voting day on 19 September 2021.

The Head of the CEC of Russia spoke about the main directions of the large-scale election campaign for the election of deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation, noting the openness of all procedures at various stages of the election campaign and the firm compliance of election commissions with modern electoral standards: "The work of election commissions based on modern electoral standards contributes to increasing the openness and transparency of the electoral process. They are based on the enormous achievements of the electoral system over the past five years."

The conference is organized by the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation and the All-Russian Public Organization "Russian Society of Political Scientists" on the basis of the Faculty of Political Science of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

During the event, more than three hundred Russian and foreign scientists, experts, parliamentarians and representatives of civil society discussed the evolution of electoral systems in the modern world, new trends in electoral behavior, as well as various aspects of the organization of public control over elections.
