On September 20, 2021, the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova summarized the results of the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation in the Information Centre.
Ella Pamfilova said that elections in Russia were completed. A total of 51.68 per cent of voters took part in the vote.
"We see a major difference from a similar campaign five years ago including in terms of an increase in party representation. We can already assume that there are five parties, not four," said the Chairperson of the CEC of Russia. “In addition to the self-nominated candidates, there are representatives of three other parties in single-seat constituencies who raced in a personal capacity. In total, there will be representatives of eight parties in the Duma.
Pamfilova pointed out that almost 500,000 observers and commission members with the right of deliberative vote worked during the election.
The Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation urged election commissions of the Russian Federation constituent entities not to hurry while summarizing the election results before all official complaints are considered. The head of the CEC of Russia demanded that elections be resolutely cancelled at polling stations where irregularities were detected or where there was even the slightest doubt about the accuracy of the election results: "This is our reputation, this is a guarantee of a clean election."
Pamfilova said the final results of the election would be announced on 24 September.
