Igor Borisov took part in the work of the Provisional Commission of the Council of the Federation for the Protection of State Sovereignty

On 29 November 2021, Igor Borisov, a member of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, attended a meeting of the Provisional Commission of the Council of the Federation on Protection of State Sovereignty and Prevention of Interference in the Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, chaired by Russian Senator Andrey Klimov.

The member of the CEC of Russia spoke at the meeting of the Temporary Commission as part of the discussion on the agenda item "On the use of the concept of democracy in illegitimate interference in the sovereign affairs of states".

"Interference in the internal affairs, including in the elections of the Russian Federation, by Western powers and a number of international organizations is acquiring a systemic and high-tech character, which requires a comprehensive state solution in approaches to counter such attempts and joint efforts of legislators, law enforcers and civil society institutions," stressed Igor Borisov.
